IE Warning
Simple plugin, that shows nice simple alert about Internet Explorer using and suggests better browsers.
Once the plugin is activated, the plugin shows the blog visitors a alert message on the screen indicating a message that IE does not render web pages correctly and they may want to download Opera and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Of course, for the users who like IE 7, they may include a message to upgrade their browsers to IE 7.
You may customize the message and you can also set the least version of IE for which the message should not occur. That means, if the reader’s IE version is lesser than the specified version, the message is displayed. Otherwise, not.

Currently avaible settings:
- Displaying count per session (one time for one page)
- Minimum acceptable IE version (all hihger versions will not see alert)
- Displaying delay
- Custom message and message title
- Custom CSS with 2 presets
Proposals to improve and mistakes corrections are welcome.

Может это юмор такой, но ни Konqueror, ни Opera, маскировавшиеся под ie, ничего не выдали.

Открой исходник, посмотри 66-ую строку.
У меня в блоге в IE многое вообще не рендерится, так что неизвестно, отобразилась бы такая надпись или нет. А тут гарантированное окошко поверх всего. btw, yet another way

Conditional Comments _гарантированно_ отобразилось бы. При этом, не мешает просмотру.
Отобразиться может в _неотображаемом_ элементе. Глянь мой блог вот в ie, поймёшь. Если бы оно показывалось бы где-то в районе постов, то где бы оно там отобразилось? :)
Ты, похоже, не представляешь, как выглядит эта надпись.
Она отображается сразу после body в виде стилизованной строки браузера. Да открой в IE6 и посмотри!

Верю на слово, можно такое прикрутить как вариант. Только вот поплясать со вставкой в начало <body>

Yep, if you really need it. But it will be not such effective i think. Btw, I’ll add such option as soon as I can.

Вроде как нету сейчас уже такого. Есть Get Firefox и на сайте мозиллы промо, но это не похоже на то, что было.
Думаешь, стоит заменить ссылки на те страницы, где про плюшки каждого браузера рассказывается? или там “Opera (why) or Mozilla Firefox (why)” сделать, чтобы 4 ссылки было? :)

Some of the advertising networks like Entrecard do not allow splash screens on the sites registered with them. It’s a violation!!!
Yes, there is way and i`ll implement such feature in 0.19 or 0.20, but it will require theme changing, because plugin cannot include needed code into it nice way.

Bobrik, when the plugin is implemented, I get a message on top of the browser. The rest of the page is not displayed in IE.
I’m not able to see this page at all in IE. I only see the message on top of the window.

nice plugin, i had some trouble using the custom message because when i did a line return in the textarea the code showed an error when it was supposed to show up (the warning). i guess you have to make your code replace the “line return character” to avoid errors in the future. Also it keeps adding slashes to ‘ and / everytime i edit the code.. so every time i edit it it adds a slash to the already slashed ‘ (i write >> style=”; it adds slashes > style=\’\'; i edit again and save and it adds slashes again >> style=\\’\\’ and so on)
